Narrabri West Lake was originally a swamp which was converted lake by volunteers. The recreational playground is now a great spot for swimmers, kayakers, paddleboarders and windsurfers. There is also a 3km walking track around the circumference of the lake for those who are fitness inclined.

Yarrie Lake lies 28kms West of Narrabri and is a 3km wide body of water which is thought to be formed by a meteor strike many thousands of years ago. There is no fishing in the lake, however there is ample opportunity for yabbying if you have a NSW fishing licence.
