Booking & Reservations

Can I book directly with Southern Cross Motel Group?

Absolutely. Booking direct through our website or by calling 1300 979 746 ensures the best rates, exclusive offers, and flexible cancellation policies.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

No, guests are not required to pay a deposit.

How do I guarantee my booking?

Southern Cross Motel Group guarantees you your room once a valid credit card has been given to hold this room for you.

Check-In, Check-Out & Cancellations

Is there a fee for cancelling my booking?

Southern Cross Motel Group operates on a 24-hour cancellation/amendment and no-show policy on all rooms and rates. Failure to notify reception of your non-arrival or amendment by 2pm the day before your expected arrival date, will incur the full cost of the first night’s accommodation. How do I cancel or amend my booking?

If you have made your booking directly with the property, you can contact us on 1300 979 746 to cancel or amend your booking. If you have made a booking with a travel agent or other booking website (ie. Booking.com or Expedia), you will need to contact them to make any amendments or cancellations. Cancellation and amendment fees may apply.

Can I get an early check-in?

Standard check-in time is 2pm. We cannot guarantee early check-ins, however please contact the property directly to request an early check-in, if needed. Additional fees may apply to secure early check-ins.

Can I check in after Reception has closed?

Yes, please call the property beforehand (within office hours) to organise a late check-in if you intend to arrive after hours. We will then give you instructions on how to get into your room. Failure to organise a late check in may result in the cancellation of your reservation with the full cancellation fee applied.

Can I have a late check-out?

We cannot guarantee late check-outs, as standard check-out time is 10am, however on occasion, depending on whether there is someone checking into your room the next day, we may be able to arrange a late check-out for you. Additional fees may apply to guarantee a late check-out. Please contact the property directly to discuss.

Motel Facilities & Amenities

Do you have free parking on site?

Yes, all our properties have free on-site parking for guests. Some properties have undercover parking available and also offer parking for larger vehicles off-site as well.

Do you have free Wi-fi?

Yes, all our properties have free high-speed Wi-fi, excluding the Outback Caravan Park and Cabins in Tennant Creek. Please talk to staff upon arrival for access passwords.

Do you have restaurants at your accommodation?

Yes, 14 of our motel locations have a restaurant or café on-site with some offering a licensed bar as well. CQ Motel in Gladstone, Chinchilla Downtown Motor Inn in Chinchilla and the Adelong Motel in Narrabri have a breakfast restaurant only, Coffee House Apartment Motel in Rockhampton has a restaurant which is open for breakfast and lunch only, and The Aberdeen Motel in Dubbo and The Outback Caravan Park in Tennant Creek do not have restaurants on site. Do you offer room service?

As most of our properties have an on-site restaurant, we do not offer room service, however you can order breakfast delivered to your room at the properties that don’t have a restaurant. Some properties also offer take-away lunch packs as well.

Do your motels have swimming pools?

Yes, 14 of our motel locations have an outdoor pool which is free to use by guests. Station Motel in Parkes and The Bowen Inn Motel in Lithgow do not have a swimming pool.

Are your rooms non-smoking?

Yes, all rooms are non-smoking, although there are designated smoking areas at each of our properties.

Do you have Foxtel?

Most of our properties are equipped with Smart TV’s in the rooms, which allow guests to cast personal content from their own portable devices to the TV, however for the properties that do not have Smart TV’s, we do offer free Foxtel. Please visit our individual motel pages to see which properties are equipped with Smart TV’s or have Foxtel.

Travelling for Work or With a Group

Do you allow group bookings and long-term accommodation?

Yes. If you have a group booking please fill out the form on our group booking page. If you have a long-term accommodation enquiry, please email us on reservations@southerncrossmotelgroup.com.au

Can you accommodate large groups or tour bookings?

Yes. If you have a group booking please fill out the form on our group booking page. Our properties can welcome sports teams, school groups, touring companies, and corporate retreats. Learn more about group bookings here.

Pets, Accessibility & Special Requests

Is your accommodation pet friendly?

We have 4 dog friendly properties (sorry – no cats allowed) including: Coffee House Apartment Motel in Rockhampton, The Stirling Motel in Rockhampton, Takalvan Motel in Bundaberg and Blue Shades Motel in Maryborough. Our pet-friendly motels charge an additional $30 fee per night when you bring your furry friends. Please contact the properties directly to discuss.

Do you allow service dogs?

Yes, we do allow service dogs at all our properties.

Do you have accessible rooms for guests with mobility needs?

Yes. Many of our motels have accessible rooms with ground-floor access. Contact us to discuss your requirements.

I’ve accidentally left something in the room after I checked out, how do I get it back?

Please advise us as soon as possible if you have left items in your room. When you let us know, we can hold the item(s) until you can pick it up (within reason), or you can send us a self-addressed, pre-paid package for us to return the item to you via postage.
