It tempts us!
And our chefs love putting together inventive and delicious dishes with as much local produce as they can find. Chef Peter at Station Restaurant Parkes has put together a Spring menu which is getting rave reviews. The Asian-glazed pork cutlet is a standout dish but do save room for dessert.
The Palms Seafood Buffet on Friday and Saturday nights is getting rave reviews, and features an amazing array of delicacies, with plenty of options for seafood lovers and their land lubber friends. A terrific option for a crowd – large groups are welcome.
The end of the year is almost upon us and if you haven’t yet thought of booking that end of year event, staff party or Christmas gathering, now would be a good time to do so. Our restaurants welcome group bookings and we’re always happy to work with you to ensure the food, beverages and service suit your function.

At the end of the festivities, if you’re looking for somewhere to kick back and finish your day, look no further than one of our welcoming motel restaurants or bars: Canecutters Kitchen in Bundaberg, Station Restaurant Parkes, The Palms Chinchilla, The Mill in Mackay and Coffee House Rockhampton.
All of our restaurants are open for business Tuesday evenings and we welcome you and your guests to celebrate your wins or commiserate and recover after a big day out.
Tips from staff? Be nice to your mother!
Our Southern Cross Motel Group property restaurants focus on sourcing menus from the local area wherever possible and are pleased to partner with local producers and suppliers to ensure that your in-house meals are the best and freshest around.
Over the past six months, we have done a lot of work enhancing the quality of our property restaurants and now ensure that we offer hearty and healthy dining options complimented by a range of quality beverages. Next time you stay, try the in-house dining option – a convenient choice at the end of a long day – we know you won’t be disappointed.
Windmill Motel and Events Centre is hosting the Flagon & Dragon Mackay lunch on Friday 13th October. Every dollar raised will go to help children in need in the local Mackay Region.
Tickets are sold out for the event but you can still donate via their Go Fund Me Page at https://www.gofundme.com/flagon-dragon-2017
Flagon & Dragon is a biennial fundraising event, created to help raise much-needed funds to children’s wards in all Mackay District hospitals, as well as for other organisations that focus on the needs and support of our children and young people. Flagon and Dragon is a luncheon like no other and delivers an atmosphere of fun and excitement whilst at all times focusing on raising as much money as possible. We have secured some amazing auction items and silent auctions using our own hands-on electronic machines for fun and effect.
Throughout the history of the event we have raised in excess of $1m through the generosity of people from Mackay and the surrounding district. This year we have a very ambitious $250,000 target so we need your help more than ever to achieve this!
